For my final graduation project, I'm making a multidisciplinary music performance called Eclipse.
It's a co-creation, consisting of Music, Movement and Visual Arts. The performance will be on Tuesday evening, June 25th 2024 at CREA theater in Amsterdam.
The project
What is Eclipse about?
This performance revolves around the power dynamics between humans and animals.
Humans are animals too, this is evident in many ways. However, humans are increasingly becoming disconnected from nature. People feel superior and use animals for their own entertainment.
In this performance, the disconnection from the natural world is portrayed through movement, music and visual art. A story of our relationships with the natural world and other living beings is told through the journey of Crit.
Crit is an innocent creature, filled with curiosity. It finds its way throughout the world, and along the way falls prey to malicious temptations inherent in human nature.
Deception, manipulation, and exploitation erode Crit's connection with nature and lead to the formation of a being we call human. Eventually, Crit battles with who it has become and where it has ended up.

I am Kim, 24 years old, from the Netherlands. I live in Amsterdam.
I’m studying Music in Education at the Conservatory of Amsterdam. I’m now in my fifth year. This project will be my graduation project.
I’m a vocalist who loves to experiment with different genres. Your voice is also an instrument. You can create many different sounds and ambiences with it, tell stories and connect with the listener through emotions.
The theatrical aspect of music is something I really like. I believe that combining visual arts with music increases each other's impact.
